Support Palestinian Students

As Team Iqraa prepares for the first run of their season, we would like to thank all the runners for their continued support of the Mahmoud Darwish Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships that cover a substantial amount of a Palestinian student’s tuition at a university in Palestine. These students, who are recommended by their universities and selected by UPA based on need and academic achievement, are prime examples of Palestinian perseverance (sumud).

The funds raised by Iqraa allow UPA to continue to provide the gift of education, a gift that cannot be confiscated, demolished or occupied. Team Iqraa spends days, weeks and months raising funds over the summer while also preparing to run races like the Marine Corps Marathon—they too are a prime example of sumud.

If you are interested in learning how to complete a race of your choosing or you are new to running and need moral support—join Iqraa this season. No experience is required. Iqraa accepts runners and walkers of all ages and levels.

UPA will be hosting information sessions on April 17th and April 20th. See below for more details.

Students like Laila, Farid, Haneen, Maram, Ibrahim, and Malak (pictured above) have all benefited from Iqraa’s support and can continue their dreams of achieving a higher education. More students need your support.
