Internship Program / DC, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon

***PLEASE NOTE: UPA is not currently accepting internship applications.

United Palestinian Appeal looks forward to welcoming an energetic and versatile cohort of interns into our headquarters and field offices. UPA’s internship program is designed to provide interested students with a valuable experience working on humanitarian and development issues related to the Palestinian people.

Under the supervision of a UPA staff member, our interns will have the opportunity to pursue research in one of UPA’s focus areas, namely health and wellness, education, and community and economic development, exploring new areas of need or deepening one of our existing areas of focus.  The interns will also be expected to present their research to members of the staff and receive feedback. Interns are highly encouraged to attend relevant lectures and other events in the DC area.

In addition to a research project, each intern will be assigned to a UPA staff person to support different daily functions. Our goal is to provide interns with a meaningful experience that builds their resume and gives them an inside look at working with a non-profit organization.

The internship is non-paid; however, a modest stipend will be provided. Please check back frequently for updates. Interns will be required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 8 weeks within the specified period.

Summer Internship Period
June 1 through August 30

Fall Internship Period
September 1 through November 30

“This internship inspired me to want to pursue career opportunities outside of my original goals,” said Shelby Toler, former UPA intern. ‘I realized that I have an interest in NGOs – these non-profits are making such a difference and they’re doing this out of the kindness of their hearts.”
