Tackling Hunger on World Food Day
World Food Day is about tackling the hunger crisis that many countries face and Palestinians know this all too well. People have been living under a blockade in Gaza, and residents in the refugee camps of Jordan and Lebanon have limited access to nutritious food.
UPA’s programs promote a world where no Palestinian goes hungry. Either by distributing food vouchers during Ramadan or by expanding a fisherman’s small business in Gaza—food security is our goal and part of our mission. We envision a world where no parent ever has to choose between buying medicines for their sick spouse or feeding their children.
Our Agriculture program supports farmers in growing healthier, more nutritious crops for their families and the Palestinian community at large. Moreover, the Small Business Development program has supported the growth and establishment of small businesses that promote food security in Gaza, including grocery stores, goat farms, and fisheries.
We urge you to support organizations like UPA, who hope to find more innovative ways to help eradicate hunger in Palestine. We firmly believe that every Palestinian should have access to nutritious food.
