On Sunday, UPA’s Embracing Life Program medical team kicked off their first medical delegation of 2018. ELP surgeons use these medical delegations to perform free, high-quality procedures in the surgery unit of the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, which includes two operating rooms built and equipped by UPA. The medical team performed craniofacial surgeries on patients with cleft lip and palate. In the past, cleft lip and palate patients were treated by international delegations or were transferred to other hospitals.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Baytawi, executive director of the Palestinian Medical Complex, welcomed the ELP  medical team on behalf of the minister of health Dr. Jawad Awad and the Palestinian Medical Complex management team. He thanked UPA for its support and contributions in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. He stressed that the program is a national achievement in the provision of specialized surgical services, particularly in the field of face and jaw surgery in Palestine.
