Give Hope to those Suffering and Who Continue to Endure
The beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Nakba or Day of Catastrophe. The day before the commemoration, nearly 60 Palestinians were killed and over 2700 were wounded in demonstrations that are a part of ongoing protests calling for the right of return from areas where Palestinian were forcibly removed in 1948. In years past, your generosity has given hope to those who have suffered, lost loved ones, sustained injuries, and those who continue to endure.
In the spirit of Ramadan, the month of reflection, of self-sacrifice, and of giving, we ask you to think of those who find themselves at the crossroads of history once again. We ask you to extend your generosity once more by making a tax-deductible donation to UPA. Your gift will touch the lives of people existing under the most difficult of circumstances.
The stories are numerous, the struggles are similar, and the causes remain unchanged: occupation, siege, and displacement. Seventy years and counting. Now is the time to stand against these forces of injustice and structures of violence.
For 70 years, Palestinians have striven to have a life of dignity. For 40 of those years, your generosity has supported many of UPA’s initiatives in Gaza, the West Bank, and the refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon. This year, your gift will support UPA’s Ramadan meal initiatives, small business development program, children’s fund, and many other life-changing programs.
Your support is critical and far-reaching. It makes our work possible. On behalf of all the Palestinians we serve, thank you.
With gratitude,
Saleem Zaru
