Helping Parents in Gaza
Thirty years ago, I held my daughter for the first time, a strange new sense of responsibility quickly came over me. In that moment, I knew I would do anything to keep her healthy and happy.
You may know what I am talking about. If you do, you will also understand that there is no pain quite like seeing your child suffer and not knowing how to help.
Donate today to give parents in Gaza the resources they need to help their children.
Thanks to you, over 1,500 mothers and teachers have learned to recognize the symptoms of trauma in the last three years through UPA’s Healing Through Feeling program.
Parents like Adnan, an accountant, and father of four benefitted from this program’s training sessions. As the blockade continued into its eleventh year, Adnan started to be aggressive toward his children.
Your gift today will heal more family bonds in Gaza.
His wife urged him to attend a session, she said, “You’ll find the answers to your questions there, as I have.” After learning about the symptoms of trauma, Adnan spent one-on-one time consulting with the mental health practitioners in the program. Adnan’s relationship with his children has been transformed; he now hugs them and plays with them.
“I know I have the ability to help myself and especially help my children overcome the trauma they have been exposed to,” declared Adnan.
There are countless more fathers like Adnan who are desperate to learn how they can help their children and help themselves.
Please donate today to help us reach more fathers and mothers across Gaza.
With gratitude,
