Local Partners

To enhance the quality and meaning of our work and strengthen relationships with local partners, UPA is moving to a proactive partnership and project development structure direction.

UPA accepts proposals once a year for Annual Projects that align with our mission to empower Palestinians to improve their lives and communities through socially responsible and sustainable programs. UPA awards grants for projects that address Palestinian needs in one of the following sectors:

  • Health and wellness
  • Education
  • Community and economic development;

And in the following areas of operation:

  • Gaza
  • West Bank, including East Jerusalem
  • Jordan
  • Lebanon

APPLICATION TIMELINE

  • Applications open May 9, 2024. (Click here to Apply)
  • Applications due June 15, 2024.
  • Organizations will be notified about application status by Aug 10, 2024.
  • Short-listed organizations must submit proposals by September 10, 2024.

GENERAL NOTES

  • Organizations may only submit one proposal per year.
  • No grant application will be accepted after the deadline.
  • Short-listed organizations will be invited to submit a full proposal and will be required to submit prequalification materials.
  • For proposals submitted during this cycle, the minimum grant amount is $20,000, and the maximum is $50,000.

PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA

UPA selects grant proposals based on the following criteria:

  1. Alignment (UPA): Grant proposal fits with the UPA’s mission, vision, values, and areas of focus
  2. Context: Proposed project reflects knowledge of the field, target populations, and the local community
  3. Experience: Grant proposal clearly demonstrates previous experience and success in similar interventions
  4. Experience with UPA: If organization has worked with UPA before, it should demonstrate success from the project (i.e., implementation, reporting, results)
  5. Outcomes: Grant proposal includes a description of how funding will improve the lives of beneficiaries
  6. Staffing & partnerships: Grant proposal includes sufficient staffing and partnerships to ensure success
  7. Workplan: Grant proposal includes a detailed work plan and corresponding budget
  8. Clarity & completeness: Proposal is clear and realistic. Goals and outcomes are measurable. All information has been completed
  9. Sustainability: The proposal takes into account the continuity of objectives and/or activities into the future
  10. Budget: Proposal budget is reasonable, cost-effective, and reflects the technical proposal
