Our Response to COVID-19

UPA’s response to COVID-19 addresses the economic and humanitarian repercussions of COVID-19. So far, UPA executed two campaigns, #CommunityTrumpsCOVID19 followed by #WeFastWeGive during the month of Ramadan.

With these campaigns, we have one goal: to ensure our brothers and sisters in all locations we serve do not risk their lives and those of others to find food, sanitary kits, and hygienic supplies.

Because of your support, our response to COVID-19 reached nearly 10,000 Palestinians in need so far.

This campaign is Godsend! I have not been able to provide my children with nutritious food for some time now.

Food insecurity and the lack of hygienic supplies have hit many of our beneficiaries during this difficult time, especially those who depend on daily labor to support their families. Today, they are heeding stay-at-home orders while unable to nourish their children with nutritious food and protect them with the necessary hygienic supplies.

Moreover, by launching our Healing Through Feeling Program virtual platform, our beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip continue to access presentations by UPA’s Mental Health Practitioners (MHPs) from the safety of their homes. The presentations discuss stress management, stigma, and trauma affecting children and adults in times of crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. Our beneficiaries also have the chance to interact with our MHPs directly through a newly established private counselling hotline.

All we ask for is to support our children, not us, just our children. They are not guilty of anything.

These activities could not have been possible without the generous support of donors like you during this difficult time. You can help us reach more families with a donation today!

UPA accepts Sadaqa and Zakat donations year-round.
