Rewaa says education builds character

Meet Rewaa. She is a 19-year-old English major at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. Like many young adults in Gaza, neither she nor her family has the means to fund her college education.
UPA supported her dream of becoming an English teacher by offering her a scholarship.
“The scholarship will help me complete a college education,” Rewaa said. “So God willing, I will get hired and have a source of income to support my family.”
Rewaa proclaims the importance of higher education in Gaza, both on the individual and communal level.
“It [education] allows us to develop our character, develop ourselves, and improve our community. It helps us use the skills we learn in our fields of study, and develop those skills to enhance our talents.”
With your generous support, UPA can provide more scholarships to aspiring professionals like Rewaa in Gaza and the West Bank.
“I hope all students would have such an opportunity,” Rewaa says.
