UPA Welcomes Ceasefire
For more than 24 hours, the residents of Gaza have been under attack by Israeli forces who have wreaked havoc across the besieged strip, resulting in the loss of precious life. Violence in Gaza has not ceased since Palestinian protesters initiated the Great March of Return last spring.
UPA has responded and continues to respond to the growing needs of the Gaza medical sector, which has been working beyond capacity all year. To heal the wounds caused by Israeli tear gas and live ammunition, UPA has stocked hospitals with vital medical supplies and quickly renovated and outfitted storage space at the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza to serve as extra recovery rooms for 36 patients at a time.
So far this year, UPA procured, shipped and distributed $30 million in pharmaceuticals and consumables to Gaza through our Emergency Relief Fund. This work would not be possible without you, our supporters.
Today, United Palestinian Appeal welcomes the cease-fire declared on Tuesday between Israel and the Gaza government.
For the past 40 years, UPA has responded to the ongoing emergency needs of the Palestinian people. We stand with the people of Gaza during these painful times and we are ready to act. Your support is critical and far-reaching. It makes our work possible. On behalf of all the Palestinians we serve, thank you.
With regard,
The UPA Team
