“I see a future in technology”

Connecting people within his community is what Information Technology (IT) student Moetasem Al Mobayed likes to do best.

“I see a future in technology and creative applications that make it easier for students to interact and learn even in a small spot of the world like Gaza,” said Moetasem.

As a resident of Gaza, Moetasem knows firsthand the needs of his community as it pertains to commerce. “The economy is so fragile,” said Moetasem. “Currently, it is the biggest hurdle for my people, especially those in my age group, not to mention the difficulties of travel.”

“Through my work, I can train companies to create apps to connect with people all over the world, which in turn will help the economy,” explained Moetasem. “I have so many ideas to help people create apps and games to facilitate daily life.”

An optimist, Moetasem said once he completes his studies he dreams of owning his business and hopes to change the world positively – “opportunities do not exist for us, we must create our opportunities; never to give up on your ambitions.”

During his downtime, Moetasem likes to hang out with friends, watch movies and television shows that have hidden cameras that play tricks on people for fun – “no harm to laugh, it’s good for our health.”
